Students may choose to explore Broadway favorites or classical repertoire, depending on their musical interests and goals. 🎸 Singer-Songwriter Guitar Classes at MusicMaker Arts Center of Southlake
At MusicMaker Arts Center, we believe every young artist has a unique story to tell—and music is the perfect way to tell it. Our Singer-Songwriter Guitar Classes help kids and teens develop real musical skills while having fun, building confidence, and creating their own original songs.
🎶 Young Songwriters (Ages 8–12)
Beginner Friendly | Weekly Group Class
In this fun, hands-on class, budding musicians learn the basics of guitar and songwriting in a playful and encouraging environment. Perfect for kids who love to sing, strum, or dream of writing their own songs!
Students will:
Learn beginner chords and strumming patterns
Write original lyrics and melodies
Build confidence performing solo and in groups
Make music and collaborate with peers
No prior experience needed. The session ends with a mini performance for friends and family.
🎵 Teen Songwriters (Ages 13–17)
Creative Music-Making for Teen Artists | All Levels Welcome
For passionate teen musicians, this class is a space to grow, explore, and express. Whether they’re just getting started or already writing songs, students will strengthen their guitar skills, dive deep into the craft of songwriting, and find their voice as artists.
Teens will:
Play guitar with confidence (chords, strumming, fingerpicking)
Write and arrange original songs
Explore different genres and personal style
Perform solo and collaborate with fellow songwriters
From pop to indie, folk to acoustic rock—your teen can explore it all in a supportive, inspiring space. The class culminates in a live showcase of original student work.
