Music is Everywhere (STEAM) Exploration Camp (5-10 years old)
9:00 am – 12:00 pm – Tuesday through Thursday
June 18-20, 2019
July 16-18, 2019
Our unique and innovative STEAM camp (science, technology, engineering, art and math) will explore music in new and exciting ways. Music is everywhere, even in places we would never think to look – in your math homework, in your language arts class, even in gym class! Come visit the “Music Is Everywhere Exploration Summer Camp” and discover how we can find music every day.
Learn the importance of music in plots of plays and movies, how music can help us solve math problems, and use music to encourage team work and create connections within our peer group and community.
Students will build instruments, write and perform original compositions, learn the basics of reading sheet music and play music and singing games.
Our small class size (1:10 teacher/student ratio) encourages close collaboration with other students and help our instructor give individualized attention.
Each focused activity is carefully designed to encourage active learning and engagement and to encourage skill-building at many different levels of ability.
Throughout the week, we will cover basic musicianship skills such as reading, writing and playing rhythms, reading, writing and singing notes, improvising music, and making music as a member of an ensemble and as an soloist. Come and learn how to make music your way!
Tuition for one camp is $120. Tuition includes materials.
Register by April 1 and registration fee is waived. ($25 savings)
