Dr. Elise JeeYoon Choi, a native of Seoul, South Korea, holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Organ Performance from Boston University, a Master of Theological Studies (summa cum laude) from Southern Methodist University, a Master of Music in Organ Performance (with honors) from Westminster Choir College, and a Bachelor of Music degree in Sacred Music (with distinction) from Ewha Women’s University.
Dr. Choi founded and served as artistic director of the Bach Festival of Charleston, and was a member of the adjunct faculty of Limestone College. She also taught organ at Boston University; served as rehearsal pianist for the University Chorale at Boston College and the Charleston Symphony Orchestra Spiritual Ensemble; served as a faculty member for the Pipe Organ Encounter Plus in Charleston; and currently serves as a member of the board of the Dallas Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
Dr. Choi has played recitals throughout the United States, Korea, Hong Kong, and Europe; has won several organ competitions; and was awarded the Peter B. Knock Memorial Music Award.
